Intensive in-home Dog Training

Intensive In-Home Dog Training with Heart & Purpose

Training with me goes beyond commands — it’s about building secure, balanced relationships between humans and their dogs. With a background in attachment-focused work and trauma-informed care, I understand how deeply the human–animal bond shapes behavior, trust, and well-being.

Through my intensive in-home program, dogs live in my home alongside my own well-socialized companions. This creates a consistent, natural environment where obedience skills or psychiatric service dog tasks are woven into daily life. Dogs learn not only how to follow cues, but also how to connect, regulate, and thrive within relationships.

Every dog in my care gets time to simply be a dog — to play, rest, and explore — paired with intentional, structured training. The result is a partnership that is not only reliable, but also deeply attuned, resilient, and supportive. Whether you are preparing a psychiatric service dog or seeking obedience foundations for a family companion, my goal is to help you and your dog grow into the most balanced version of a team you can be.

Two women and a dog in a cozy indoor setting. One woman is sitting with her lap supported by another person kneeling, while the dog rests its head on her shoulder and looks at the camera. The women are touching each other's heads and arms, and the scene is relaxed with colorful blankets and a casual office or living room background.

Samuel Jackson “Sam”

Sam has been part of Alex’s life since he was rescued at 12 weeks old from an accidental litter in Roanoke, VA. Now a trained psychiatric service dog, Sam is an essential part of Alex’s personal life and psychotherapy sessions. Sam is attuned to responses in human nervous systems and with his gentle eyes and comforting presence he provides regulatory support as he lays at clients' feet or by their side.

Mrs. Moseph “Mo”

Mo joined the pack after her previous parent was no longer able to care for her. She is a vibrant and silly pup. She offers endless love, licks, and laughs! She will gladly accompany you for a mindfulness session in nature where she encourages you to stop and sniff!

“… what truly sets Alex apart is her profound empathy not just towards her human clients but also towards our four-legged companions.”
